C25k

(sorry for the deer-in-headlights-awkward face. I was too worried about getting caught taking a self portrait in the gym bathroom. creeper!)

So, I told you guys a few days ago that I ran for 15 mins straight but what I didn't tell you was that I've been training with the c25k program. I had been wanting to start it for quite sometime now (read: since last year) but was too chicken shit to even give it a start. I had it in my head that "there is no was no way in hell I can run a 5k, I'm just not a runner" and couldn't get past it. I had given up before I had even tried.

But with all the gym classes I had been doing, I was feeling a bit more confident in my physical capabilities (i.e. was not as fat as last year) and decided to give it a try. What's the worst that could happen? So I try and can't complete it resulting in major discouragement and giving up this whole diet & exercise thing & gaining all my weight back and move on. Big deal. So I DL'd the program on my iphone and gave it a shot. I was actually quite surprised at how long I could comfortably run for. Not long by a runners standards that's for sure, but for me, it was pretty impressive. Could I be making my way towards becoming "a runner"? I'm thinking yes!

So, here I am, home from the gym after completing W4D2, feeling incredible & actually feeling (close to) confident that I'll be running a 5k this spring.

Now, confident enough to sign up pay the $25 registration fee for the the 5k I wanna run on April 10th? Ummm, NO! What are you crazy, I said I could run 15 mins people, not 15k. I still gots a ways to go!

I have been looking into the C25K program but I think it is a bit too early for me. I just started exercising again after a 2 year hiatus.

I assume that you are doing your running on a treadmill then??

You can do it!!!
