C25k program COMPLETE!

Last year one of my 2010 resolutions was to start the c25k program. Start. Not complete. I just wanted to give it a shot. See how well I could do. And all throughout 2010 I kept saying this would be the week I'd start, this would be when I'd at least see if I could run for more than a minute, and I never did. I never even tried. I was scared. Scared of trying. Weak.

Then 2011 rolled around and I told myself that this was def the year I started. Again started, not completed. I was still doubting myself. Why do we do that?

So, I finally convinced myself and on Jan 19th I complete w1d1 and I was THRILLED! And even though it was only a few intervals of 60 second runs jogs, I was proud.

Then as the weeks progressed, I continued to surprise myself. Running longer than I ever had. Faster than I ever had. And although I was miserable with exhaustion after each run, I continued on with the program. Week after week, never once repeating a day. Progressing each run. Gaining confidence. Over the moon excited. I'm running! I'm that much closer to being a runner! I didn't know about you, but to me, being a runner is the epitome of being an athelete. I wanna be an athlete. I want to be athletic. This isn't just about losing weight anymore. [It's still a pretty big fricken' part of it though!]

And now, 3 months [or 9 weeks of program running] later I've completed the program. A program I had no intention of actually finishing. I knew I wanted to finish. I knew I was going to try to finish, but I didn't see it happening. But it did. C25k program COMPLETE!

And with one day to spare. 5k race on Sunday!

That's awesome! Good for you!

I've started and stopped the C25K program so many times it's ridiculous. I'm such a lazy bag of bones when it comes to running. If I don't like doing it (and I don't like running), I will avoid it at all cost! HAHA

Good luck on your race on Sunday!
