The photos do not even come close to doing it justice!
The drive up there was a little nerve racking. The road does NOT seem big enough for 2 cars to pass each other at the same time but apparently it is. It's definitely a tight squeeze though. There were a few points where Adam & I were laughing uncontrollably b/c we were so nervous we were going to fall off the edge. It was hilarious and petrifying at the same time. But definitely cool.
The drive was a little over 7 miles and took about 45 mins with a few stops to enjoy the scenery along the way. They give you a CD to listen to while driving up that has a bunch of cool facts and tips for driving (like speed limit of 20 mph, drive in 1st gear both ways and pump your brakes while driving down).
The top of the mountain was FREEZING and so so windy. Since we didn't plan for the trip up the mountain & with the fact that it's been hot & sunny everyday, we were WAY under dressed. Adam had shorts & a t-shirt. I had a t-shirt and capris and Ava was in shorts and a tank top. Thankfully we bought her a really cute Mt Washington sweatshirt before we headed up, but it still wasn't enough.
We went up the the observatory, froze, walked around the cafe & gift shop, headed back outside to enjoy more of the view, froze, took some family pics, froze, walked around some more, froze & then enjoyed a bit more of the view from the warmth of our car before we headed back down. We even got the infamous bumper sticker!

It was truly an experience we'll never forget.
