I'm not a very religious person and I admit that I'm a bad catholic who only practices on holidays (i.e. Christmas, Easter, etc) but I do try to give up something for lent each year. I figure, it's only going to benefit me, why not. Plus, I like messing with myself, see how I do. Ya know?
So this year, I gave up this:
The peanut butter, not the chocolate. What are you crazy?!
I trashed it a month or so ago but wound up re-buying a jar the following week. I did pretty well with it and cut down but was still eating too much of it.
So, a few weeks later when that new jar was finished I bought a jar of regular fat PB, which I won't touch, so Ava could still have an occasional pb&j sandwich. Jars of PB used to last me close to 6+ months, we barely ate it, until I became obsessed with it. Then we were eating a jar every few weeks. Gross!
An now it's been weeks since I had any and decided to officially give it up for lent. It's going good.
So, what about you? Did you give up anything for lent?
