However, this weekend I seemed to have thought I was.
I run a few extra stinkin' minutes in my c25k program and here I go thinking I'm all athletic and schtuff. Humph Oh, and I somehow convinced my husband that he definitely was super athletic too.
And then in my brief moment of IAmWomenHearMeRawr I went and signed us up for the warrior dash. Yup. Bring on the mud, barbed wire & fire bitches!
3 miles of torture for only 50 bucks? Sign me up!
It's toted as The Craziest Fricken' Day of you life. "Warrior dash is a mud-crawling, fire-leaping, extreme run from hell. This fierce running series is held on the most challenging and rugged terrain across the globe. Warriors conquer extreme obstacles, push their limits and celevrate with kick-ass music, beer and warrior helmets."
Intense right?!
Just reading the descriptions of the obstacles gave me a mini panic attack.
Hell's Hill - sprint to the top of a summit
Arachnophobia - thread through tangling ropes
Black Forest - forge your way through uncharted forest
Blackout - dive into darkness and escape the trenches
Knee High Hill - speed step through hundreds of tires
Warrior Wall - conquer the wooden barricade
Junkyard Junk - stampede through the scrap yard
Statan's Slope - skid down the muddy slope
Muddy Mayhem - scramble beneath barbed wire as you near the finish
Warrior Roast - leap over warrior fires
Sick.
Seriously though, we're signed up and I'm super excited [and slightly "wtf are you nuts?!"] about it. June 25th. We're doing it with my brother in law & sister in law plus another couple we're friends with. So it's slated to be a good time. It's never been here in New England but I hear it's a blast.
Mud, turkey legs, fun costumes, live music & Beer.
And now I know how I got Adam to sign up.

I signed me and my husband up for this run in MN. I don't know what I was thinking but I am excited for it. Hopefully my running 2-3 miles a few times a week will pay off. If not...Lord help me!
Nice! When is the MN one? Not sure how to train either. I've been running too. Thinking maybe when it gets warmer I should just go running through the woods. Like, unmarked trails. lol
MN one is July 23-24th. I'm doing it the 24th because Saturday was completely filled. Yeah I really don't know how to train for it either. Running in the woods would be a good idea as long as it is safe. You'll do great. I think going in a group will make it much easier. We couldn't find anyone to join us so its just the two of us doing it together.
